Building a Castle of Sand
Mateo wants to build a big sandcastle on the warm beach. But the sand is too dry! Sofia comes to help with her water bucket, and together they build the best castle ever.
Mateo is sitting on the warm beach, scooping golden sand into his bright green bucket. He pats the bucket: *Pat-pat-pat!* and quickly turns it upside down. But when he lifts the bucket, the dry sand crumbles and slides down into a flat pile. Mateo sighs sadly - Oh no, the tower fell down again!
A little girl named Sofia walks over, carrying a shiny red bucket filled with cool sea water. She sees Mateo's flat pile of sand and smiles warmly. Sofia tilts her bucket and pours the water onto the dry sand. Together, they use their hands to mix the wet sand and dry sand. Sofia laughs - The sand is too dry! Let's add some water to make it sticky!
Mateo and Sofia scoop the wet, sticky sand together into the green bucket. They turn it upside down and tap the bottom: *Thump! Thump! Thump!* They look at each other and count together: one, two, three... lift! A perfect, round sand tower stands tall and strong on the beach. Mateo cheers - We did it! Look how strong our tower is!
To make the castle beautiful, the new friends look around for treasures. Mateo finds shiny pink seashells on the beach. Sofia points to a friendly little orange starfish resting on the sand. They place their treasures gently on top of the castle. Suddenly, a little crab wiggles past, waving its claws. Mateo and Sofia high-five each other happily - Our castle is beautiful!
