The Star's Sleepy Pocket

Toby's bedroom is very quiet in the evening. The crescent moon lamp casts a warm, soft yellow light onto the wall. Toby sits on his wooden bed, gently stroking the soft fur of his teddy bear, Teddy. He looks out the open window at the tiny stars shining high up in the sky. After a long, sleepy yawn, Toby slowly lies down, pulls his star blanket up to his chest, and holds Teddy close. He whispers softly into Teddy's ear: - What will we dream of tonight, Teddy? Teddy closes his round eyes and hugs his small white cloud pillow, ready to go into the dream together

As Toby closes his eyes, a soft rainbow ribbon slide flows down from the crescent moon straight to their bedroom window. Toby holds Teddy's hand as they step out and sit together on the wide ribbon. The ribbon sways gently like a slide, carrying them smoothly up into the dark night sky. They glide past fluffy clouds made of white cotton loops with stitched borders. The cool night wind blows past their ears as they sail through peaceful starlight lands

The ribbon slide stops softly right next to a little star made of yellow felt. The little star is curling up from the cold, and his embroidered face looks very sad. When he sees Toby and Teddy, he blinks his weak yellow light to say hello. The star points his pointy arm down toward the garden below, where a giant oak tree made of brown fabric stands. On the highest branch of the tree, the star's cozy pink sleeping bag made of soft cotton is caught

The night wind blows harder and harder through the fabric oak tree, making the pink sleeping bag sway wildly and start to slip from the branch. If the bag falls into the deep grass below, the little star will have nothing to keep him warm and will be cold all night. The little star sadly closes his eyes, and his light fades even more. Teddy looks at his shivering friend with concern, gently patting the pocket of his teal wool vest to make sure his wooden needle is safe inside, and decides to slide down with Toby to rescue the sleeping bag

Toby and Teddy hold hands and slide quickly down the rainbow ribbon to the branch of the fabric oak tree. Toby holds Teddy's vest tightly so the little bear can reach out and untangle the pink sleeping bag from the branches. The two friends bring the warm bag back to the sky and gently slip the little star inside. Toby zips the embroidered zipper up to the star's chin. The little star stops shivering at once, smiling and blinking his warm yellow light to thank them, and glows brightly across the night sky

Tucked warm inside his sleeping bag, the little star smiles and falls fast asleep. Toby and Teddy hold hands and climb back onto the rainbow ribbon, letting the cozy slide carry them gently back to their bedroom. As they touch the floor, the ribbon fades away and they are back under their warm blanket in their own bed. Toby pulls the covers up to his chin, hugs Teddy close, and whispers softly before closing his eyes: - Thank you, my kind teddy bear, Teddy Teddy smiles and rubs his cheek against his tiny cloud pillow, and they both drift into a quiet sleep under the warm light of the happy star
