The Pine Tree's Warm Winter Scarf

Winter is here, covering the quiet forest in deep white snow. Inside her cozy hollow oak library, Luna sits warmly sipping a cup of hot acorn tea while watching the snowflakes fall outside. The winter night is very cold, and the wind blows through the bare branches like a soft sigh. Luna prepares her warm leaf bed, but she still worries about the forest animals and plants facing the freezing cold

Looking through her window, Luna spots a tiny young pine tree standing all alone in the middle of the snowy field. The little tree is shivering in the freezing wind, and its green pine needles are turning gray from the biting frost. Luna hears the tree groaning softly in the cold and feels very worried. Luna wonders to herself - Why is the little pine tree shivering so much? Luna quickly puts on her reading glasses, wraps a small woolen scarf around her neck, and flies down into the cold night

Luna lands on the deep snow beside the shivering pine tree. She wraps her soft wings around its cold wooden trunk, but she cannot share enough warmth to keep it safe. Luna remembers the little silkworms sleeping inside their warm leaf nest nearby. She flies over to the nest and calls out softly to her friends - Please wake up, silkworms, the little pine tree is so cold! The tiny silkworms slowly wake up, stretch their bodies, and crawl out into the night ready to help

The friendly silkworms quickly climb onto the branches of the shivering pine tree. Under the soft moon, they begin to spin beautiful silver silk threads. The little silkworms move back and forth, weaving the shiny threads together to make a thick, warm fabric. Luna helps by holding the edges of the silk blanket as it grows larger and thicker. The freezing wind tries to blow the threads away, but they all hold on tight together to keep weaving

The silkworms spin their silver silk around the tree until a giant warm scarf wraps the young pine tree from its roots to its highest branch. The freezing cold disappears, replaced by a gentle warmth that spreads through the wood. The young pine tree stops shivering, and its gray needles turn bright green again. The little tree shakes its branches happily and whispers - Thank you, Luna, and thank you, kind silkworms! I feel so warm now!

With their job done, the happy silkworms crawl back to their warm leaf nest to finish their winter sleep. Luna flies back up to her cozy hollow oak library, packs away her reading glasses, and tucks her wings under her soft leaf blanket. She closes her golden eyes and whispers into the quiet night - Ah, so that is why the silver silk catches the warm air to protect the little tree until spring arrives
