Sunny travels to the Chocolate Mountain, where the rocks are made of dark cocoa, and helps the ground squirrel dwellers grind cinnamon bark to melt their frozen chocolate river.
The freezing winter has arrived, burying the entire forest in deep, cold snow. Inside his cozy nest, Sunny the little sparrow is packing his bags for a long flight to the Chocolate Mountain in the far north. A group of tiny ground squirrel friends lives there, and Sunny wants to bring them a warm surprise before the heavy blizzards arrive. He carefully wraps his yellow scarf around his neck, places his small cloth shoulder bag over his shoulder, and flies off into the windy winter sky
Sunny flaps his wings and flies over snowy white valleys and rows of green pine trees covered in clear icicles. The winter wind blows hard, making his small wings feel very tired and his body shiver with cold. But Sunny keeps flying, refusing to give up because he knows his ground squirrel friends are waiting for him. Looking down from high above, the dark cocoa-brown peaks of the Chocolate Mountain finally appear through the misty clouds
Upon landing, Sunny perches gently on a stone by the chocolate river that flows around the foot of the mountain. But instead of the warm, flowing chocolate that usually runs here, the cold has frozen the river solid into a thick brown block. The ground squirrels are huddling on the cold snow, their tiny paws shivering without warmth. They look at the frozen river with sad eyes, worrying about the cold winter days ahead
When they see Sunny, the ground squirrels run over happily to greet him, but they cannot stop shivering in the freezing cold. Without the hot chocolate river to keep them warm, they will not survive this harsh winter. A little ground squirrel looks at Sunny with sad eyes and says: - The chocolate river is frozen solid and we have no hot chocolate left to warm our bellies
Sunny remembers that the warm scent of cinnamon bark can melt chocolate and keep it warm for a very long time. He excitedly tells the ground squirrels to climb the mountain slope with him to find the old cinnamon trees. Together, they brush away the cold, deep snow and carefully collect dry pieces of fragrant brown cinnamon bark from the ground, filling their small woven baskets
After carrying the baskets of cinnamon bark back, they all get to work using stone mills to grind the bark into fine powder. Sunny carries the bag of cinnamon powder in his beak, flying along the frozen river and carefully sprinkling the fine powder over the ice. The warm cinnamon scent releases heat that sinks into the hard chocolate, making small cracks appear on the frozen surface
To their amazement, wherever the cinnamon powder lands, the frozen chocolate melts into a warm, flowing river that runs through the valley, spreading a sweet aroma. That night, Sunny and the ground squirrels gather around a cozy fire, happily drinking warm cups of sweet hot chocolate under the starry sky. The ground squirrels smile warmly and say: - Thank you Sunny for this cozy winter
